Hitachi used to run their HDD assembly process with a combination of a manual and a semi-automatic assembly stages. They wanted to renew their assembly capability to achieve better productivity and higher quality. Hitachi selected Cencorp Automation as their partner in transforming the old, manual way of working to the modern, automated one.
Hitachi´s new, fully automated Cencorp HDD Assembly Line was implemented to use during summer 2015. It is a tailor-made solution that improves significantly the quality and productivity, replacing the manual and semiautomatic assembly stages. The results are outstanding. The productivity increased by 300 % compared to manual assembly , and 100 % compared to a semi-automatic process.
